I've realized yet another of the myriad benefits of procrastination. Take the example of, say, buying presents. If you wait until the last possible minute to get an anniversary or birthday present, then you won't have to spend the two weeks or months before the occasion itself jumping out of your skin in anticipation.
GodDAMit.
I bought the present for Rae's birthday in New York City, but I can't give it to her until October. I finished making the CD for our anniversary, but that's not until the very end of the month. I want to gush about both of these things, because they're both amazing and cool, but that would be spoiling the surprise.
Must not spoil gift.
The truly annoying part, luckily, concerns the CD, and so it won't last for as long. When I make these albums for Rae, I make a special effort to find, not just really good songs, but really good songs that she's not familiar with. And, with this disk, I was having a hell of a time finding enough cool songs in my library. So, I outsourced, looking around on the internet and through my parents' collection to finish it off. Because of this approach, I found a couple kick-ass songs that are new to me as well, and I am bursting with the impulse to share them and tell everybody to check them out.
But I can't. That would be ruining it.
::screams incoherently and pulls large tufts of hair from his head::
By the way, the song in my "Current Music" is not on the mix (due to its subject matter), but it is nonetheless a truly cool little song, and you should listen to it.
Yeah.

I have real life friendships or acquaintance relationships with many of the people on my list, and frankly, they don't need to know about, say, my last one-night stand. I'm sure she wouldn't be ticked off if you shared the contents of her present with your 'friends'...
