In the "Because you really care about the minutiae of my life" department:
-> I'm addicted to the show "Teen Titans" from Cartoon Network. I watched it once, was surprised that my intelligence was not insulted, was attracted to the drawing and animation, and actually laughed *with* the characters once or twice. Then I discovered that it is on every day right when I get home from work, and I was lost. I'm vaguely ashamed of being into a superhero cartoon, but on the other hand, what the hell. At least the resident supervillian is pretty damn cool by any standards.
-> Found Paladin of Souls, the sequel to The Curse of Chalion, and completely ran aground about 150 pages into it. I'm sure that if I push forward another thirty pages or so, the big twist will appear and I'll be hooked again, but at the moment I'm vaguely disappointed in Mrs. Bujold.
-> Went browsing through a used book shop this evening, and grabbed a collection of folk tales from the British Isles. There were a couple different books to choose from, but this one seemed to be the best for actually picking up stories from. Plus, some of the stories are written (yes, written) in nigh-incomprehensible accents, which makes for a jolly good time as you try and figure out the meaning in phrases like "'Here te be,' says he, an' he gonned it to her." Still, should provide some good fodder.
-> Still hung up from the season 3 finale of B5, but I've made a deal with my friend that if he watches the first season through "Parliament of Dreams," then I'll stop bugging him about it for good.
-> Just discovered the Barenaked Ladies for the first time, by hijacking their "Greatest Hits" album from my supervisor's office while working in there. Really, really enjoying it, about four years after the rest of the world.
-> Does anybody know a good alternative to suprnova.org? (I'm trying to find Transmetropolitan)
