Had today been any day other than Valentine's Day, it would have been great. As it was, it was merely okay. See previous entry.
A few notes:

I have created a new metric unit, the Monkey. The Monkey is the standard measurement of fun. 1 Monkey is equal to the amount of fun one could have with a single monkey. Thus, an activity involving 1 dekaMonkey of fun is as much fun as a barrel of monkeys. Several other benchmarks include:
Watching a movie with friend(s): 20 Monkeys, or 2 dekaMonkeys
Missing school to go see a play: 5000 Monkeys, or 5 kiloMonkeys

Speaking of missing school to go see a play, guess what I did yesterday! Yup! Our drama class got to go see Berkeley Rep's production of "Rhinocerous" for the entire second half of the day. As a bonus, because a couple people couldn't make it, Rae got to come also, even though she's not in drama.

The downside of this was that we both missed English. In English, the rest of our class watched the end of a movie, on which we would then have to write an in-class essay today. So, we had to rent the movie ourselves and watch the end. Fun. Actually, it was fun, compared to watching it in class.

The problem, though, was that we also missed the teacher's explanation of the essay, and so I had to go in before school today to ask about it. It was then that the entire rest of my day was made, to mangle the expression. Mrs. Palmer told me that the last essays we wrote were SO bad that she was cancelling today's essay, in order to tell us about them. Also, she said something about tearing up the old ones and throwing them away without grading them.

Seriously, how lucky can we get?

Anyway, that was the major event of the day. I got a lot of candy. Yay. And half of the couple that's always hanging all over each other at lunch time wasn't there, so i was able to eat in relative peace. Except for Erica and Rae dancing to "Big Papa" over by the freshman. Ah well, one can't have everything.
