Arr, ye mateys. Downloaded a bunch of music in the closing days of vacation, artists I liked a song or two of and wanted to hear more. Blessid Union of Souls turned out to be extremely disappointing, although "Light In Your Eyes" and "Standing At The Edge Of The Earth" are still great songs. On the other hand, Sister Hazel turns out to be solid most of the way through. I downloaded a ton of their stuff, including "Chasing Daylight" in its entirety (shame on me, i know), and it's all fantastic, solid rock except for this one song which just started playing called "Everybody" which is some horrid attempt to do reggae or something. Anyway, though, 11 of 12 songs on the album are great, so I heartily reccommend that you give "Chasing Daylight" a listen of your own.
So the school thing is happening again. Everyone who was back last night was hanging around in our room, and only this one girl was really drunk. I somehow managed to get the new batch of Sister Hazel music to be the soundtrack for the night, and people liked it a lot too, which was awesome.
Gordon showed up with his requisite carload of luggage, which we all helped haul back to the room. After the normal stuff, though, came the tour de force: a full-sized foosball table. He intends to construct this and stand it in our common room. I'm not entirely sure how it's supposed to fit, or how he intends to get it out again later, but hey, at least we all got severe back pains trying to carry the box up the stairs.
Got an essay to finish today, but I should also have some of my Amazon gifts waiting for pickup at the mail center. Hopefully the Gaiman book has arrived--I also ordered Anachronox, but i promised myself I wouldn't open it until after finals, so as not to consume my time during crunch period.
I did eventually find that Journeyman Project disc, and I played through the game over break (in addition to getting hopelessly addicted to Civ III, the disc for which I have not brought withe me. Even better, I searched through the files on the disc and found the theme music, which is now my startup sound. So wonderfully haunting...
