when the hurlyburly's done

occultatioAfter literally months of planning and procrastinating, I finally did it.
I got me an electric guitar.
I can't say that it's the sweetest little thing on earth, because I saw a lot in the guitar store that were way sweeter, for only a couple thousand dollars more. But this baby is pretty nice. It's a Fender Fat Stratocaster, with two regular pickups and one humbucker. It's this amazing deep red wine color that I just fell in love with at first sight, with a white baseboard (or whatever it's called).
What finally spurred me to get it was that, this weekend, Guitar Center was giving away a free amp when you bought a Fender guitar. The salesman I got was awesome, and he ended up throwing in not just the amp but a free strap, free set of strings, and a five-dollar discount on the extended warranty. The end result is that I walked out with everything I needed for less than the list price of the guitar itself.
I have been tooling around with it all afternoon, and I am so happy that I bought it. It is just so cool. Especially the strap. . . there are few musical experiences as awesome as playing "I Love Rock And Roll" with the distortion turned way up while jumping around your room.
