you crack me up, little buddy!
Aug. 23rd, 2006 02:10 pmSo, so, so!
I was in Harvard Square this morning to meet with Prof. Foster and get more books from Widener, and since the Harvard Bookstore only buys books during the middle of the day when I'm usually at work, I stopped in there to sell off some comics.
So. I go down into the basement, and sell two old trades for $6 of store credit.
Then I go looking, as usual, at the used comic section, to see if there's anything good and new in.
I see: someone has just sold his complete collection of Stray Bullets trades, which I've heard good things about but never read. There's some new Batman-related stuff. "Sam and Max: Surfin' the Highway." That same volume of ElfQuest that's been there for over a year now. Spid--wait.
Sam and Max: Surfin' the Highway??
I grab it: it's a paperback copy in great condition. Hasn't been drawn on or torn or even dogeared. It's marked "Used: $7" in pencil. I take it upstairs and spend 1 dollar of my own money to buy it.
For those of you who aren't familiar: "Sam and Max: Surfin' the Highway" went out of print about a decade ago. If you're lucky, you can find used copies of it on eBay for $120-130 or more.
I'm still giggling madly.
