notes from 2:30 in the morning
Dec. 28th, 2005 02:29 amOne of my major recurring problems is that, having picked up a good book lateish at night, I am effectively unable to go to sleep until I've finished it. Of course, sufficiently long books tend to outlast my stamina, but even a novel will keep me up to the end -- witness the series of posts from around 4 in the morning last spring when I picked up Pastwatch at about 11.
So, perhaps you can understand why it is such a bad idea that I asked for a lot of comic books for Hannukah.
Hannukah, if I may remind you, has eight nights.
Sunday was the first five trades of Fables. 4:30.
Monday, thankfully, was Maps in a Mirror, which is a collection of short stories, and so filled with stopping points.
Tonight was Supreme: Story of the Year. 2:00, plus checking/updating livejournal.
I am going to be dead before I make it through this blasted holiday. At least I get to sleep in, sorta.
Mom actually talked to me about staying up too late, monday night. I unwrapped the book, and she says, "Now, don't stay up all night reading!"
"Don't worry," I say, riffling through the pages for her benefit. "This one's just text."
"Oh," she replies. "I thought it was a book?"
True story.
In unrelated news, Alexa and I are going to have the hottest Masque costumes EVER. Which reminds me, I was supposed to take care of organizing a Masque theme for everybody else, like a week ago. Shit. I guess I'll send out another email to Discuss tomorrow.
Right. I definitely should not still be up now. I leave you with a page from Supreme, then:
( Alan Moore can be funny(?) )
