I am reading Snow Crash and enjoying it immensely. The cool virus/religion/language stuff is making me go "eee!"

I do wonder, though... does anybody who's read this before know how much of the Sumerian and Judaic history he references is actually real, and how much is made up for the purposes of story? It's cool either way, but I'd be curious to know.
